Review: The Last Olympian (Percy Jackson Series #5) - Rick Riordan

So... I finally finished the Percy Jackson Series. It took me about a year to finish it. Not because it was not good or slow to read. It's just that you don't have to read the books back to back because they are self-contained, which I like. The books are just perfect to read in between other books. Especially because I read mostly more dramatic, sad and heartbreaking books. Since the Percy Jackson Series is written for kids, it's lighthearted and funny.
I think I would have liked the books way better if I've read them when I was younger, but they were still so good!!
Once I start a book in the series I can't put it down. They are so action packed. One battle chases the next. There is never a breather for Percy Jackson and his friends.
Especially the last one was so fast paced. There wasn't a page without action. So you'll never feel bored with these books.
Even though the action is great, I would have liked to read a bit more about Percy's normal life in between the quests and how it is to live at camp half blood.
Before I forget I also have to point out the chapter headers. I just love them! They are funny but don't spoiler the chapter. They just give you enough information to wonder what will happen and make you even more curious to read on.

If you are in middle grade and look for an action packed and funny book you have to read the Percy Jackson Series. But also if you are older I can just recommend that you don't miss this series. Especially if you like Greek Mythology or have to study it for school, you should read these books. If I had read them before doing my test on Greek gods I would have had great marks. The Greek Mythology aspect in these books is just so interesting and Percy and his friends are so funny, I just can't stop reading about them. Which means I started reading The Heroes of Olympus Series right away and I'm already absorbed in the story ;)
